I am planning to move back to NYC and I want a Luxury Apartment in Midtown Manhattan. Ideally, a 1 bedroom w/ washer and dryer in the room. Is this a pipe dream? I realize already that it's expensive. =] Thanks.
NYC is always expensive, but maybe nowadays you can get a deal.
Why don't you contact banks and search for repossessed apt for a great deal.

Domestic Goddess With Focus Issues
You know how it is. You wake up in the morning and you are raring to go. TODAY is the day that your house is going to be June Cleaver clean, shining from top to bottom.
You've all ready stocked up on all the cleaning supplies and you can hear them calling you from under the kitchen sink. You put on your most comfortable pair of sweats and a clean but stained tank top, pull your hair back, crank up the tunes on your iPod station so that the whole house is full of upbeat, motivating music and ZOOM! You're off and running to the first room you want to tackle.
I usually start with the kitchen. It begins with unloading the dishwasher and putting away the clean dishes and then reloading it with the dishes that were left in the sink overnight. (Now if my mom were alive she would tell you that you never, ever go to bed with a dirty dish in the sink because if someone has to come in during the middle of the night, they will think you're a messy housekeeper!) Personally if someone is in my house in the middle of the night and it's not the EMTs rushing me to the hospital for a medical emergency, there may be more than a messy dish that someone has to look at because that intruder will be sorry that he ever even entered my house – but that's another story.
