Sheriff dedicates new Operation Medicine Cabinet program

PORT CHARLOTTE, Florida - Charlotte County Sheriff Bill Cameron gave details for the new agency "Operation Medicine Cabinet" program to the district office-4 in Port Charlotte Wednesday morning. Charlotte County citizens now have access to a secure box to deposit their unused or expired medications prescription and nonprescription.

Sheriff Cameron said: "We are in partnership with Drug Free Charlotte County on this project and I am very pleased to announce that we now have two safe places for citizens to dispose of their medications.One is in Englewood, CCSO-1 District office at 6868 San Casa Road, and the district here at our office at the mall-4 Walks, Port Charlotte. The Police Department Punta Gorda has a drop box in lobby which is convenient for those living south of Peace River. "

Citizens now have access to a box attached to the submission of their medications for proper disposal. The instructions are displayed above the repository to assist in the elimination process and provide information that lists the types of drugs acceptable for disposal.

Inspired a cult-following; Yoda had impressed me after he said, “do or do not…there is no try.” The films also fueled a monumental change in the toy industry when Kenner Corporation first released the 3 3/4 inch Star Wars figures in 1978. Inspired by the popular 12-inch G.I. Joe figures these new smaller toys consisted of less plastic, cost less, and fit easily into kids’ hands. With Lucasfilm’s approval, Kenner marketed the toys simultaneously with the release of the films, which no other toy company had successfully done before. Immediately after a kid saw Star Wars , defines this movement as a “blending of art, graphic design, and toys to create original items that come from personal sensibility.” Disney artists use a blank three-dimensional Mickey Mouse -like shape as a canvas to spin a classic tale, put a mini-theme park in the palm of your hands, or to showcase their own art styles in the urban series.
